The Heart Weeps

I don't understand, I sit here and ponder,
my mind spins, I swallow hard.
I swallow reality, difficult as it is.
Everything was blessed, now everything's different.

We shared dreams and passions, now there are no words.
Time passes, I wait patiently.
For something, even just a morsel.
Something to grasp, is it empty hopes?

Something to hold on to, is it just dreams?
I have failed you, somehow, someway.
I make mistakes, and am far from perfect.
You make mistakes, they reflect on me.

I have failed you, somehow, someway.
My heart is yours, you've captured it.
You held it tight, like life sustained.
You give it back, broken, unrepairable.

The heart not only bleeds,
the heart weeps.
